extra patients a month within reach, on careful assumptions
Elara Aesthetics is a made up clinic, so its positions, reviews and website findings are examples of what I typically find. The search numbers and click costs are real Google data for Glasgow, October 2025 to September 2026.
01
There's demand for what you do. Most of it goes to three other clinics.
People in Glasgow search for the eight treatments you offer about 8,520 times a month. I checked the 24 biggest of those searches by hand, from your postcode.
You're in the top three on Google for about 4 in every 100 of them, and almost all of those are “near me” searches from people already close to Finnieston. Everywhere else, the same three clinics take the clicks.
They aren't better clinics. They have more reviews, more treatment pages and faster websites, and you can catch up on all three.
What stood out
- 1,080 searches a month for polynucleotides and skin boosters, and no page on your site for either.
- 31 Google reviews. The three clinics above you have between 146 and 412.
- Your anti wrinkle page promotes Botox by name, which the advertising rules don't allow.
- The site takes 5.8 seconds to load on a phone.
02
What patients in Glasgow search for
Monthly Google searches for each treatment you offer. That counts people searching from Glasgow, and people anywhere who put Glasgow in their search.
Also searched for in Glasgow
- Laser hair removal and laser clinics2,280
- Skin tag removal1,120
You don't offer these, so this isn't a nudge to buy a laser. It's just worth knowing where else the demand sits if you ever add a treatment.
If you ever advertise
Anti wrinkle injections can't be advertised to the public at all, because Botox is a prescription only medicine. For your other treatments, a click from Google Ads in Glasgow costs about:
- facials £1.33
- microneedling £1.56
- lip filler £1.82
- dermal fillers £2.55
- polynucleotides £1.33
- skin boosters £1.45
- chemical peels £1.86
Ads for cosmetic treatments also mustn't be aimed at anyone under 18.

Across Glasgow
Maps results change with where the person is standing. So I also searched for “anti wrinkle injections near me” from 49 points around the clinic, 600 metres apart. That's a square about 3.6 km across, from Partick to Charing Cross.
You're in the top three at only 2 of the 49 points, both right beside the clinic. About a kilometre out you're between 8th and 15th. At the edge, under 2 km away, it's 14th to 20th, and in the 4 corners you don't show up at all.
04
You and the clinics above you
The three clinics that rank above you for most of these searches, side by side with you. In a real report you'd see their names. I've left them out of this sample.
| Measure | Elara AestheticsYou | Clinic ACity centre | Clinic BWest End | Clinic CSouthside |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Maps position for botox glasgow | 11th | 1st | 2nd | 3rd |
| Google reviews | 31 (5.0) | 412 (4.9) | 238 (4.9) | 146 (4.8) |
| New reviews in the last 90 days | 2 | 37 | 22 | 15 |
| Photos on the Google profile | 12 | 180+ | 96 | 64 |
| Treatments listed as services | 3 | 21 | 16 | 14 |
| Treatment pages on the website | 6 | 24 | 17 | 15 |
| Load time on a phone | 5.8s | 2.1s | 2.6s | 3.0s |
| Registration shown on treatment pages | No | Yes | Yes | No |
| Main Google category | Beauty salon | Skin care clinic | Medical spa | Skin care clinic |
None of this is about being a better clinic. It's reviews, photos, pages and speed. Clinic C shows you don't need all of it, either: they rank third with a slower site, on the back of 146 reviews and a properly filled in profile.
05
Your website, and the advertising rules
What a patient sees when they land on your site, and how it measures up against the rules for advertising aesthetic treatments.
Your website
Slow on phones
The main content takes 5.8 seconds to appear on a phone. Google's target is under 2.5. Most of it is a 14 MB video at the top of the home page.
No page for polynucleotides or skin boosters
They get 1,080 searches a month in Glasgow between them, and right now those people have nowhere to land.
Page titles don't say Glasgow
Five of your six treatment pages have titles like "Lip Filler | Elara". Google and patients both look for the town.
HydraFacial is only on the price list
There are 910 searches a month for HydraFacial in Glasgow. A line on a price list won't rank for any of them.
You can't see which pages bring bookings
Book now opens a separate booking site, and nothing records the click. So there's no way to tell which treatment pages actually earn their keep.
Practitioners are named, with their NMC PINs
Every treatment page says who does the treatment and shows their nursing registration. Patients notice this, and plenty of clinics skip it.
Clear prices
Prices are on every treatment page. Keep them. It saves you a lot of "how much is it?" messages.
The advertising rules
Your anti wrinkle page promotes Botox
The page is titled "Botox Glasgow" and has a "20% off Botox in November" banner. Botox is a prescription only medicine, and UK rules don't allow those to be promoted to the public. The ASA treats your website and your social posts as advertising.
Your registration isn't shown
You're registered with Healthcare Improvement Scotland, but the site never says so. Under the new law, from around September 2027 patients will be told to check for it.
Before and after photos are labelled properly
Each one names the treatment and the practitioner, and none are filtered or edited.
The fix for the Botox page: call it anti wrinkle injections, drop the discount banner, and talk about products in the consultation instead. The compliance guide has the detail.
06
The three changes I'd make first
If you only do three things, do these, in this order.
Give polynucleotides and skin boosters their own pages, and fix the Botox page
Why
1,080 searches a month have nowhere to land, and all three clinics above you have pages for both. The Botox page is a compliance risk as well as a missed ranking.
What I'd do
Two new treatment pages planned from the search data above, and the anti wrinkle page renamed and rewritten to the advertising rules.
About a week
Could you do it yourself? Each page needs the treatment, who does it, the price, aftercare and your registration. That's most of the work.
Get your Google profile working as hard as the clinics above you
Why
Most of these searches are decided on Google Maps. You have 31 reviews and 12 photos. The three clinics above you have between 146 and 412 reviews, and they're still getting new ones every week.
What I'd do
Change your main category to Skin care clinic, list all eight treatments as services, add 30 real photos of the clinic and the team, and text every patient a review link after their appointment.
A day to set up, then ten minutes a week
Could you do it yourself? All of it. The review routine matters most, and it's the bit clinics usually stop doing after a fortnight.
Make the site quick on a phone
Why
5.8 seconds is slow. Google's own research found more than half of mobile visitors leave when a page takes longer than three seconds, and most of your visitors are on phones.
What I'd do
Swap the home page video for a still image, compress the photos and remove two scripts nobody uses. The target is under 2.5 seconds.
Two days
Could you do it yourself? Probably not, unless you're comfortable editing the site. Your web designer can do it from this list.
07
What it could be worth
A careful estimate, not a promise. It's based on the 8,390 searches a month where you aren't in the top three today. Move the sliders to match your clinic.
Once you're in the top three. Three clinics share most of the clicks, so this stays low.
Call, message or booking request.
After a consultation or a reply.
What a new patient spends on their first visit.
Within reach each month

£3,450
a month in first treatments, about £41,700 a year
- Searches
- 8,390

It only counts first treatments. Anti wrinkle patients usually come back two or three times a year, so each new patient is worth more than this over time.
Your turn
Want this for your clinic?
Your report uses your treatments, your town and your own positions, checked by hand. It's free, it takes me two working days, and there's no sales sequence afterwards.
How this report was made
- Search numbers and click costs: Google Ads Keyword Planner, via Catchment Keyword Planner, October 2025 to September 2026 (12 month average). Monthly averages are Google's own estimates, rounded by Google.
- In a real report, positions are checked by hand from your postcode, signed out of Google, on the date at the top.
- Elara Aesthetics and Clinics A, B and C are made up for this sample. Their positions, reviews, photos and speed figures are examples of what I typically find, not measurements of real clinics.
